Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Style-LORE collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Style-LORE is a small, actively-developed styling app — a style quiz, a closet organizer, and a community feed — and this policy is written to describe plainly what actually happens with your information, not to promise more than the app currently does.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect the display name, email address, and password you provide. Your password is never stored as plain text — it's run through a one-way cryptographic hash (bcrypt) before it touches our database, so even we can't see or recover your actual password.

Profile information. If you fill out your profile, we store the bio text and profile picture you choose to add.

Style quiz results. Your answers to the body-type (Kibbe) and style-language quiz, and the resulting style estimate, are saved to your account so the app can show them back to you and use them elsewhere in the app (like the outfit checker).

Closet items. Any items or photos you add to your personal closet are stored so you can see them again later. Your closet is private to you.

Community content. Anything you choose to post in Community — photos, videos, captions, style tags, comments, likes, and follows — is stored on our server and shown to other members of Community. Treat anything you post there as public within the app.

Two photo features work differently, on purpose:

Color quiz photo — the photo you use to check your color palette is processed entirely in your own browser (it samples colors from the image on your device). It is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Optional AI photo refinement — if this feature is turned on and you choose to use it, the photo you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for a one-time analysis of body proportions, and the response is used to refine your style-quiz result. The photo itself is read from a temporary upload and is discarded immediately after — it is not saved on our servers. This feature is optional, must be explicitly enabled by us, and is off by default.

What we don't do

We don't run ads, ad trackers, or third-party analytics scripts on Style-LORE.
We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We don't share your content or account information with third parties, except the limited, purpose-specific cases described above and below.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to operate the app's features: authenticating your account, running the style quiz and outfit checker, storing your closet, and powering the Community feed (posts, likes, comments, and follows). We don't use your information for advertising or profiling.

Where your information is stored

Style-LORE runs on standard web hosting infrastructure (GoDaddy) with a MySQL database. Uploaded photos and videos are stored on that same server's file storage. Anything you post to Community is retrievable by its own web address, the same way any public app content works.

Third parties

We use two categories of outside services:

Our hosting provider (GoDaddy), which stores the app's database and files as our infrastructure provider.
Anthropic (maker of Claude), only if the optional AI photo-refinement feature is turned on and only for the specific photo you choose to submit to it, as described above.

We don't otherwise share your information with third parties.

Your choices

You can stop using Style-LORE and the Community feature at any time. If you'd like your account or content removed, email us at kgasps2025@gmail.com and we'll take care of it — there isn't a self-serve delete-account button in the app yet, so this is the fastest way to reach us for now. The same applies if you've forgotten your password: there's no automated password-reset flow yet, so email us and we'll help directly.

Children's privacy

Style-LORE is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us at the address above and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

Style-LORE is actively developed, and this policy may change as features change. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
