Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Style-LORE collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Style-LORE is a small, actively-developed styling app — a style quiz, a closet organizer, and a community feed — and this policy is written to describe plainly what actually happens with your information, not to promise more than the app currently does.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect the display name, email address, and password you provide. Your password is never stored as plain text — it's run through a one-way cryptographic hash (bcrypt) before it touches our database, so even we can't see or recover your actual password.

Profile information. If you fill out your profile, we store the bio text and profile picture you choose to add.

Style quiz results. Your answers to the body-type (Kibbe) and style-language quiz, and the resulting style estimate, are saved to your account so the app can show them back to you and use them elsewhere in the app (like Style-ME).

Closet items. Any items or photos you add to your personal closet are stored so you can see them again later. Your closet is private to you.

Community content. Anything you choose to post in Community — photos, videos, captions, style tags, comments, likes, and follows — is stored on our server and shown to other members of Community. Treat anything you post there as public within the app. One exception, and only if you choose it: when you write a post you can mark it “shareable by link”. That gives you a link that works for anyone, including people without an account — it shows that one post and your display name, but not your profile and not the comments other people left. It is off by default, it is offered only while you are writing the post, and it never applies to anything you posted before this option existed. Search engines are told not to list these pages.

Most of Style-LORE's photo-based features run entirely on your device:

Color quiz photo — the photo you use to check your color palette is processed entirely in your own browser (it samples colors from the image on your device). It is never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
Style-quiz photo refinement — the optional photo you can add after the body/proportions quiz is analyzed entirely in your own browser (it estimates body proportions from the image using an on-device pose-detection model) to refine your style-quiz result. The photo is never uploaded anywhere and is discarded from memory as soon as analysis finishes.
Style-ME (free, photo mode) — the free "instant fit verdict" photo check is also analyzed entirely in your own browser (edge, color, and, when a full body is visible, silhouette signals sampled from the image on your device). It is never uploaded anywhere.

AI Stylist (Premium) is the one feature that does send a photo off your device. If you're a Premium subscriber and choose to use the AI Stylist for a more detailed review, the photo you upload for that specific request is sent to Anthropic (maker of the Claude AI models) for analysis. We only send that photo after you have explicitly agreed to it in the app, and you can withdraw that permission at any time under Home → AI photo permission, which stops any further photos being sent. Anthropic is contractually required to provide protection for that data equal to what this policy promises, does not retain the photo after answering the request, and does not use it to train models. Anthropic's own handling of that request is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy. We do not store the photo: it is sent to get the read and is not kept on our servers or in our database. Because it is not kept, asking the stylist a follow-up question about the same photo sends that photo again with your question — each time, only to answer what you asked, and still never stored. This only happens when you actively choose to use the AI Stylist — it is a separate, clearly-labeled option from the free on-device Style-ME check above, and is never triggered automatically.

What we don't do

We don't run ads, ad trackers, or third-party analytics scripts on Style-LORE, beyond the Google advertising and analytics described below.
We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
We don't share your content or account information with third parties, except the limited, purpose-specific cases described above and below.

Advertising and analytics

Style-LORE loads Google's advertising script (AdSense) and measures usage through Google Analytics (GA4). We do not currently display any ads — there are no ad units anywhere in the app or on this site. The AdSense script still loads, however, so both it and GA4 can set cookies and read device or advertising identifiers; GA4 also reports aggregate usage statistics back to us. Google, not us, controls how that data is used on its side — see Google's own policy on this for details. If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you'll see a consent prompt letting you choose whether to allow personalized ads. Ad and analytics data is tied to a pseudonymous identifier Google manages, not to your Style-LORE account.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to operate the app's features: authenticating your account, running the style quiz and Style-ME, storing your closet, powering the Community feed (posts, likes, comments, and follows), and, for Premium subscribers who choose to use it, sending a photo to Anthropic for the AI Stylist feature. We don't use your account information for advertising or profiling — see "Advertising and analytics" above for what Google's own scripts do independently of that.

Where your information is stored

Style-LORE runs on standard web hosting infrastructure (GoDaddy) with a MySQL database. Uploaded photos and videos are stored on that same server's file storage. Anything you post to Community is retrievable by its own web address, the same way any public app content works.

Third parties

We use five categories of outside services:

Our hosting provider (GoDaddy), which stores the app's database and files as our infrastructure provider.
Google (the AdSense script and Analytics), as described under "Advertising and analytics" above.
Payment processors — Stripe for subscriptions bought on the website, and Google Play or Apple for subscriptions bought in the apps (through RevenueCat, which relays the purchase status to us). They handle your card and receive your email address for receipts; we only receive whether your subscription is active. Your card details never touch our servers.
Amazon, only when you tap a "Shop" link — the link carries our Amazon Associates tag so we may earn a commission on what you buy. Nothing about you is sent to Amazon by Style-LORE; Amazon sees you only as a visitor to its own site, under its own privacy policy.
Anthropic, only if you're a Premium subscriber and you actively choose to use the AI Stylist feature — see the callout above. We don't send anything to Anthropic outside of that specific, opt-in request.

We don't otherwise share your information with third parties. The free, on-device photo features described above run entirely on your device and are never sent to us or to anyone else.

Your choices

You can stop using Style-LORE and the Community feature at any time. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the app (Home → Delete my account) — this permanently removes your account, profile, posts, likes, and follows; see the in-app confirmation screen for the one disclosed limitation (comments you've made keep your display name attached, since they aren't linked to your account internally). If you'd rather we do it for you, or have any other request about your information, email us at support@style-lore.com. If you've forgotten your password, use "Forgot password?" on the log-in screen for an automated reset link, or email us if you'd like help directly.

Children's privacy

Style-LORE is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, email us at the address above and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

Style-LORE is actively developed, and this policy may change as features change. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
